HOPE
We believe that biblical hope is not based on a wish or a desired outcome that might happen, but an earnest expectation of what we know will happen in the future. As believers in Christ we are taught that we have two main promises to base on.
The Hope of Salvation - The Scriptures teach that once a person comes to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior they will never face eternal judgement, but rather live with Christ in Heaven for eternity. "... as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it patiently." (Romans 8:23b-25) "Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." (John 14:1-3)
The Hope of the Lord's Return - The Scriptures teach the return of Jesus Christ will be personal, bodily, and visible. The coming of Jesus Christ will be the climax and culmination of His redemptive work, when He will separate His followers from lost man and then establish His kingdom in which He Himself will rule. "And while they were gazing into heaven as He went, behold two men stood by them in white robes, and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:10-11) "waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13)
